Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: September 15, 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Avocado mobile application (the "Service") operated by Ben Boyd ("us", "we", or "our").

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

1. Nature of the Service

Avocado is a travel budgeting and expense tracking application. It is designed to assist users in managing their personal travel finances. The Service operates primarily as an "offline-first" tool, meaning your financial data is stored locally on your device.

2. Financial Disclaimer, FX Rates, and Receipt OCR

The Service provides budget tracking, automated receipt scanning, and currency conversion estimates. The Service does not provide professional financial, tax, or accounting advice.

3. Data Loss and Backups

Because Avocado stores your financial and trip data locally on your device's internal database without syncing to our servers, you are solely responsible for your data. If you uninstall the app, clear your device storage, lose your device, or experience a hardware failure, your data will be permanently lost. We hold no responsibility or liability for lost or unrecoverable data.

4. User Accounts

When you create an account with us via Google Sign-In, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Ben Boyd and his licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the United Kingdom and foreign countries.

6. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
